How it works. Your public address is fetched from several independent echo services and must agree; four independent geolocation databases then say where that address lives, and we take their consensus. WebRTC is asked separately — it can reveal an address your tunnel hides. IPv6 gets its own check because many tunnels only cover IPv4. Your device location (GPS) is read only when you press the button, with your browser’s permission prompt, and the distance to your internet identity is computed on this screen — the coordinates are never sent anywhere, not even to this site: the page’s security policy only allows the address services listed, and the code contains no path that transmits location. Nothing is stored. Press Forget my location and the reading is gone.
